Sew Parties! for you and your friends!

Description : Gather a group of friends and host a Sew Partie. Schedule a time for your Sew Partie, bring some hors' doeurves and we'll teach you all to sew! You can expand your circle of sewing friends, and we'll expand the circle of sewers, all while having fun. We have several projects to choose from, so you'lll decide which you prefer. Come to QuiltTrends the night of your Sew Partie and we'll help you choose your fabrics, show you how to cut, stitch, and before you leave, your project is done. You provide the friends and we'll provide the fabric, machines, all supplies and instruction.

Hand Applique the Easy Way
Instructor : Becky Campbell
Description : Remove the learning curve of hand appliqué with this new technique developed by Becky Campbell. This new method does not require needle turn nor ripping out freezer paper from the back side and eliminates the tedious work of hand applique. It’s much easier yet gives precise results.

Beginning Machine Piecing

Description : If you are new to quilting and want to start out on the right foot, this class is the one for you! You will learn how to choose fabric in Session I, learn how to correctly rotary cut a straight strip without ruler slippage, how to determine a quarter inch seam, how to press a straight seam and more. Each session features a different technique including the traditional split rail fence, log cabin and half square triangles. Class project is a throw size quilt that includes all of these techniques plus sashings and borders. Even if you’ve pieced a quilt, if you were disappointed in the results, take this class!
This class is geared to the very beginner, so if you are wanting to learn to piece a quilt top, sign up! Quilting is a fun hobby, and we can help you join the crowd!!

Description : In this class we will start on the flying geese setting units for the Back to Nature Block of the Month. Sign up for this class if you need help sorting through the Flying geese, and figuring out the setting section placement of the geese.

HQ Rental

Description : If you want to rent time on our HQ16's and quilt your own quilts, you must take this training class. In the first session, we will show you all the basics about the machine: how to thread and oil the HQ16, how to attach your leaders and load your quilt. In the second session, we will show you some free motion designs and teach you the finer points of long arm quilting. Class fee includes a set of leaders to take home. Quilting time is $15 per hour, sold in increments of 6 hours for $75, with one hour free! Season Pass can be used for $25 of this class fee.

Lutradur & Embellishments
Instructor : Rhonda Pfahler
Description : Lutradur is the latest craze in surface design! It’s kind of like an interfacing but can be painted, dyed, heated, sewn, embellished, etc! The first session of this class will teach you all about Lutradur: you’ll paint it, dye it, and otherwise color it; return for the second session and learn all about embellishments: foiling, Angelina fibers, Paintstiks, crystals, etc!

HQ Rental Training
