Brown Bag Mystery is just that…a DOUBLE Mystery!! You only get ONE CLUE…and that’s a look at ONE FABRIC. The mystery is the pattern and the other fabrics! It’s super fun! Thousands of quilters have solved the Brown Bag Mystery over the years and loved it! It’s fun, it’s community and it’s for Y-O-U!
Here’s how it works:
Purchase a Brown Bag from QuiltTrends, starting February 1. It will include:
- 5 fabrics, clearly labeled, for the inside of the quilt top.
- Full Color Basic cutting instructions to get you started.
- Additional info from QuiltTrends, including how to join the special, private Facebook Group “24BBMystery”. We will also let you know about borders, rulers, and other helpful info!
Brown Bag Mystery Program also includes:
- Five full color Clues: Starting Saturday, March 16 and every other week until May 11, one clue will be released, enabling you to make one or more units. CLUE DATES: March 16, March 30, April 13, April 27, and the final assembly instructions May 11. Clues will be mailed via USPS by all shops on the Friday previous to Clue Saturdays. Be patient! It is NOT a race!
- Access to the private and exclusive Facebook Group 24BBMystery where you can see others progress and share your own!
- Five Instructional Videos by Designer Karen Montgomery. She will upload a video every Clue Saturday at 6am, giving you lots of tips and tricks on how to make that Clue. Videos will remain available for a YEAR!
Brown Bag Mystery is a program exclusive to the 60-ish Sewposium Shops. This group was founded by former Quilt Store owner and Designer Karen Montgomery, and each year we gather for a few days with Karen where she gives us remarkable programs and marketing to bring back to our stores. QuiltTrends has attended Sewposium since Year #1, and we just returned from Sewposium #8!

Brown Bag Mystery Bags are $119, including FREE SHIPPING for the original Fabric shipment + all the clues. For the Border/Binding packets (3 yards), shipping is extra, so purchase them together!
